I took the advice of the reviews and ended up with a broken unit (motor went out in 2 weeks. They had to order parts and I have been waiting for service for over a week. They apparently don't sotck parts local for this unit.

I'm 5'9" and like to "hike" the treadmill by increasing the treadmill incline until I max out. In so doing, I take long strides as I normally would when I hike, but on the F80 I continually find my feet striking the plastic cover at the front end of the machine. It's very annoying. As part of my hikes, I also like to intersperse xtra-long, exaggerated strides to really hit the glutes. At high inclines, this requires some steadying using the hand rails; however, the hand rails and computer board on the F80 are positioned a few inches too low to do this comfortably, and are just too low in general. I've never had either of these issues at the gym with a Precor or Life Fitness treadmill. On the plus side, it is sturdy and not too loud. For the typical user, it's probably great. For me, it's a disappointment.

I did my homework on treadmills and this treadmill gives you the most bang for your buck. The treadmill is quiet (didn't wake the sleeping baby) and it is very sturdy. Also, it was easy to setup. Make sure you have help bringing it into the house...it's pretty heavy.

I bought this about 4 years ago and I am now looking to expand my workout room. I am actually looking at a Sole elliptical because I have been so pleased with my F80. I know there are alot of reviews for people who just bought it, so I thought I would throw out how it's running after 4 years of use. So far it's as good as the day we bought it. It has some scratches because I moved, and putting it in the new house took it's toll cosmetically, but mechanically it has been perfect. I have only had to call Sole once, and that was to order additional lube for my machine. [...] If anyone is considering purchasing this, and wondering what kind of life to expect, I can say from experience 4 solid years without a hitch. That is using it 3 to 5 times a week consistently for about an hour. I strongly reccommend this product to anyone.

I use it mostly in the winter to get ready for spring running. On long workouts of 45+ mins. the contolls stop working. Sole replaced the consoll once already at no cost to me. The replacement started to do the same thing, so I'll be back on the phone with ther service department(the first time they were very helpful). If you plan on giving this a light workout its great, but for something more look for something else.

Both my sisters have a Sole treadmill and have been on me for months to get on board. I finally did and it is great to be working out at home, I feel great!! The Sole treadmills are perfect for home exercise and I applaud them for engineering such a good home unit.

I have had this machine for a few weeks now and love it! It looks nice, quiet, sturdy design, and the controls are easy. The only con is that the fans which i thought was a great feature dont actually work that great. Other then that it was a really great purchase for the price!

My wife and I use it for walking and running. It's quiet and sturdy. Really enjoy the manual programming ability, and heart rate control. Strongly recommend.

I wanted a durable treadmill, did my homework and research. F80 was the perfect chioce for a person who wants to run 3-5 miles a day, 5-7 days a week. Great controls and very quiet. Bought the in home warranty for piece of mind. I would recommend this treadmill to anyone.....

I was so excited to receive my new treadmill, after researching for a few weeks I finally decided on the F80 because it's received so many good reviews. I'm not sure where these reviews are coming from, but they can't be from runner's. I'm not a marathon runner, nor am I a heavy person, 5ft 8, 180 lbs and this unit is not enough for me. At 5mph the motor gives off such a loud humming noise, I can't work out in the morning anymore. If this wasn't bad enough, as I get to higher speeds, the belt actually begins to slip! I lost my balance once and that was it, no more high speeds so I'm stuck walking or jogging at slower speeds.

The console is nice, a bit plain but that's what I like, if you want extras, this isn't the right unit for you. I thought the fans were a great feature when I was shopping but when I tried them out, they're not very useful.

Don't get me wrong, the unit isn't one of the cheap units out there but there are better. Do your homework and don't believe all of the reviews out there like I did.

That had a great weight capacity and lifetime warranty on the motor, frame, and deck, plus other warranties on top of that. I am practically covered for life..but I wanted this thing to last me a lifetime. I wanted such a great quality for a great price. I want this thing to be able to be used everyday 2x a- day, everyday without any problems. Without the motor burning out or the electronicaly panel to go bad. We are all looking for something great, but we also want to get what we pay for. So after just a week of really reading up on everything, I went my local dick's and purchased this exact treadmill. It was so big and weighs about 285lbs that it did not fit into our GMC Envoy. We had to bring back a pick-up truck. But we were able to get it the same day!!! So we brought it home and brought each part in seperate until we needed 2 strong men to carry in the deck. It was put together in less than 2 hours, including cleanup! It was packed very nicely and only had to snap the wires back into place. I was very concerened. I was the one who wanted to pay someone to deliever and put this thing together in case anything happened or if it didn't work properly they could take it back right away. Well my husband on the other hand, wanted to buy it and put it together in the same night. He was right! We didn't have any problems!!!! This is also an extremley safe treadmill. I have 2 kids running around and i have many ways of turning it off and also the hydrolic lift and release makes it so easy to fold up and go down automatically. The only thing is that it is very heavy but extremley sturdy. so whatever you want to put this thing makes sure its the right spot..I love the fact that I feel in control of this treadmill and that it holds my weight and takes care of me. My feet or my knees do not hurt after I run. I can hook up any cd/ipod/mp3/ or even cassette tape into the treadmill and it has a great ouput on the speakers...but also i can plug my headphones right into the treadmill and listen to my music that way. I wanted to right a long review because this treadmill was worth all the research i did, and reading the reviews on dick's website was very important to me. just got it about 2 weeks ago. put on 50 miles . mostly fast walking, little bit of running. i'm not a pro at this by any means, ut so far soo good. like the machine a lot. not noisy, even with fan on. i do think though that preset programms are too easy, so i just crank up my own "manual" settings.
overall good quality. have a few heavy dudes help you carry it and install it, as i nearly earned a hernia lifting this thing.

This is a really great treadmill. It has a heavy duty frame. The only problem I had with it was getting it down the stairs to my basement. This thing is 250-280 lbs. I did a lot of research before buying this, and I'm happy to own it. Owning this treadmill, and knowing how durable and heavy duty it is, I laugh when I see other treadmills at stores. I think this is the best treadmill you can get, if you don't want to buy something for more than $2500. I would recommend it to everyone.

I've worked out at the gym for years and as I've gotten a little older I've decided I wanted a little more convenience and work out at home. Knowing that I wasn't going to buy the treadmills I was used to (too expensive), I researched the best i could buy. Sole always came to the top of my research list whether I was searching the internet or talking to friends. Well, I finally stopped thinking about it and bought one. I truly just wish I would have done it sooner, I'm thrilled with the F80 and love having it at home. It's a fantastic treadmill!!
