Comments about QUEST Quest 12 x 12 Canopy:

I have owned this for 3 years now and have had no problems. Using the stakes and guy wires is a must if you don't want it to fly away in the wind. Also, like any tent (this is really a tent without the bottom) you need to use seam sealer occasionally. I expect this to last another 3 years if not more with proper care. Many storms have been ridden out under this with the side walls installed.

Comments about QUEST Quest 12 x 12 Canopy:

I have had two of these for 3 years. One outfitted with the screen surround, and oneas a tent. I have been camping several times with these and found them sturdy (steel frame)and dry, even in driving rain. They are heavy though, which contibutes to the sturdy nature, but not good for back packers. I have also used the canopies for bsck yard functions.

Comments about QUEST Quest 12 x 12 Canopy:

We use this for shade at the entrance for our tent while camping. If it rains, the seams will leak. The best use is for shade in nice weather, but don't use it to try to get out of the weather. The stakes are cheap. Mine bent when the wind started blowing. Try using actual tent stakes to hold down the tie-down ropes.

No product support, cheap design
By Nealpeal from Nazareth, PA on 7/8/2008

Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

What Is Your Gear Style:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about QUEST Quest 12 x 12 Canopy:

Angled legs are a major tripping hazard. Leg angle easy to bent with light contact. The long leg at steep angle gives you plenty of leverage. If pole section or canopy gets damaged, just toss it. North Pole Imports (800) 449-9015 has no website, can only sell a complete replacement, no Spare parts. After 13 months and 3 uses, one mid-section piece is slightly bent and will not retract. Square alumimun will kink. First Up, first to the scrap yard. Do not buy "Quest" products, or pay retailer for the extended warranty (You will need it).

I've owned one of these for 4 years and had no trouble at all until I loaned it out. I'm going to buy another one. [...] To make these work well, you have to felcro every fastener available and at least stake the legs down which adds to the overall strength. Above all don't force anything when setting up or taking down. If you take a little care it will last you a long time. Otherwise you may need to invest in a circus tent.

Comments about QUEST Quest 12 x 12 Canopy:

It's a great screen room .. however, it has a BIG flaw. The support poles in the middle are NOT nearly strong enough for the force it takes to put the frame up. We have used our 5 times and three of them have broken, right where the screw area is. And, there are NO replacement poles available.

You need to talk to your provider. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Comments about QUEST Quest 12 x 12 Canopy:

After two summers of use, the canopy top is worn. I went to the sporting goods store where I bought it, for a replacement, was told by the clerk that they didn't carry them in the store, and I should order through the store web site, or should Google "Quest Canopies". There are no web hits for anyplace selling replacement canopies, nor is there anything on the store website. I emailed the retailer's customer service, and they told me that they do not carry replacement canopies. I would have to junk my current frame, which is in perfect working order, and buy a complete new canopy set. This is the most ridiculous, environmentally irresponsible thing I have ever heard of! If the retail chain sells this product, they certainly know who makes it, and should CERTAINLY be able to supply replacement covers! This is another way for a big company to screw the customer. I am furious about this practice, AND about the environmental impact, and will NOT purchase another item from this Sporting Goods supplier. Wake up call to the sporting goods store buyers: -you really blew this one.

Comments about QUEST Quest 12 x 12 Canopy:

I have used mine dozens of times in all forms of weather, mostly for long term camping trips. I keep reading about this canopy being flimsy and how the fly leaks and whatnot. Listen, mine has withstood devastating downpours, and just a few weeks ago, rain and winds exceeding 55 MPH (I kid you not!). Guess what: Still standing! I highly doubt a 5 MPH gust damaged anyone's shelter as stated in another review. Guy wires and stakes work wonders for those not too lazy to use them. If it broke on anyone during setup, chances are they have a tendancy to break everything they touch. Basically, this thing is idiot-proof. Simple knowledge and common sense will ensure proper performance of this product.
