In order to be ASA certified, the rules say a bat cannot propel a ball faster than the tested speed of 98 MPH. The Miken Freak 98 pushes that limit right up to the 98 MPH level with no excuses and no remorse. Thanks to the strength of it's patented and unmatched E-Flex technology, Freak 98 generates maximum flex through the barrel ensuring the best performance when ball meets the bat.

Launches lazer line drives & dingers right out of the wrapper, can't wait for it to fully break in. I can not tell the difference between this and the previous '04 freak. It will replace the Juggy in my bag........

I have been playing softball for years and play five nights a week plus tourneys on saturday and sunday.I have owned many makes and models of bats and the freak 98 is by far one of the best bats out there. If your looking for fast results at a great price this is the bat for you.I was lucky enough to pick mine up at an even lower price than listed.

Comments about Miken Miken MSFN Freak 98 E-Flex Composite Slow Pitch Softball Bat:

Just got the bat and for the money it's going to be hard to beat. You can't touch a good bat for less than approx 250.00(IMO) and that's on the light end of $. I bought it at the store for [$] on sale, so, I'm not really complaining about the price. I was already a homerun hitter before I got this bat, but it does have a very nice pop to it. And, it performs very well overall. It just so happened that my first swing with the bat and I hit like a 400fter+ and I have to admit that was one of the longest, I've ever hit. Conclusion is, for the money it's solid. But, if you wanna spend $ like 300.00 plus than it's no competion.

Comments about Miken Miken MSFN Freak 98 E-Flex Composite Slow Pitch Softball Bat:

I have a 34 inch / 27 ounce Freak 98. I bought it a year ago and used it in 2 different leagues last year and it got a workout. Between games, practices, and BP the bat has easily over 1500 hits on it. The bat is quirky to say the least. I'm a power hitter and I'm not sure this bat suited me well. No matter how hard I swung or how perfectly I timed my swing I could not duplicate results from swing to swing. Some swings would be line drive singles while others were 310'+ homers. I like the bat, and I ended up with an average around .650 or so, but I only ended up with 4 homers on the year. Meanwhile with my Freak Plus I launched some missiles that cleared 350'... but that's to be expected from the Plus. Long story short, the 98 is good for an ASA league, but outside of ASA you can do a lot better. As far as ASA bats go, this is a 8 out of 10.

Comments about Miken Miken MSFN Freak 98 E-Flex Composite Slow Pitch Softball Bat:

At my first game this bat was awesome! The bad thing about this bat is that it lasted one season. The next year when i went to practice and swung to hit a pitch the bat broke in half and the barrel went flying out to 2nd base. It was covered under warranty so i received a new one. I have an Easton sc9 and it blows the Miken Freak away! Miken is a good practice bat.

Comments about Miken Miken MSFN Freak 98 E-Flex Composite Slow Pitch Softball Bat:

Great bat. Excellent pop. Homeruns are within reach of an average player, and if its a line drive or a grounder the ball comes off the bat with great speed. First composite bat I've owned. Love it to death. Grand Slam today made the price totally worth it.
