I have always wanted an elliptical that fit my needs, and this one is it! I use my elliptical about 5 times a week for 45-60 minutes and so far so good! I love the incline and resistance features on this machine, it really puts the "WORK" in WORKOUT. Although the heart monitor is a tad bit slow to show your true heart rate, that's a minor issue that didn't sway my overall love for this machine. Great buy and it will give you the best workout!

I did a lot of research for an elliptical that was good and that fit in our price range. These reviews helped me make my decision on the E900 machine. I really liked all the features it had. One of my favorite features is the one button incline range-makes the work out more intense. I had delivery and setup-and I thought that was worth the extra $$ since there would be no way I could help carry this down to the family room in the basement. So far I have really no complaints about this machine except for some slight squeaking from one of the back roller and maybe not knowing if the heart-rate monitor is absolutely correct. Over all I would have purchased again. The others out there are either cheap or cheaply made or they are way out of my price range. This is a great in the middle of the road with great features.

My wife and I have had the machine for almost a month now. It gets used 5 - 6 times as week for 30 minutes each time. It is very sturdy and really quiet. I put it together with a 7 year old as my assistant. It took about 2 hours, but considering having to explain how and why it all goes together to my son, it was pretty simple. This really added a lot of time to the build, but it was worth it to bond with my son and teach him some basic tool use. I researched many ellipticals prior to my purchasing this one. This is a great product. I did a bit of reseach and the closest dollar/feature competitor was at local big box store that requires membership (not supposed to mention brand names)...but the demo there was very rickety and I only heard bad things about that brand's customer service. This unit works great (I use it for a half hour almost every day), it's easy to set up, easy to use and program in your own workouts. It does squeak a bit at the wheels and I haven't quite figured that out yet, waxing the glide rails (as suggested by Horizon) really doesn't work. But, hey, I'm wearing headphones anyway listening to music, so the squeak doesn't really bother me. This is a great unit, very stable, and a pleasure to be on. I purchased this at the new store in Tigard, Oregon. The salesman/department manager Anthony was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have now owned this unit for about two months, so this review is somewhat time tested.

I took about 45 minutes to put together with my 7 year old as my assistant. It was really pretty simple to follow the directions. It was more difficult to explain to a 7 year old how and why it all went together. Actually, I was very excited he wanted to help. We got it all put together, and now 2 weeks later no problems. My wife and I have been using it both 4 times a week without a glitch. So far this is an awesome machine.

I just ordered this elliptical. It is my first and I wanted to get something that is sturdy, easy to use, and as close to gym quality as possible. I love this elliptical. It is quiet and comfortable and reminds me of working out at the gym... I was worried about assembly, but my brother and dad put it together in an hour and had no problems at all!!! It is a great deal and so far a great piece of equipment.

Good product for weight loss, calorie burn. It was easy to assemble. Have used it twice daily for about a week. No problems. I am 6'3" 255. The machine is stable and tight. There is a slight noise but I don't know if this is normal as this is the first one I have used. It is not disturbing or loud enough to be heard in another room. I attribute it to moving parts keeping noise, not worried. I would definitely recommend over a treadmill as I own both. The elliptical is far safer. As far as brand I was looking at the higher end Soles, but to stand in one spot for a half hour huffing and puffing, this was just as good of a buy.

I obsessed for weeks and weeks over which elliptical to buy, and in the end it was down to the Horizon E900 and the Sole E35. I finally decided to go for the Horizon because of the incline feature, even though there is praise galore for Sole everywhere you look, and much less available info, good or bad, for this particular Horizon model.I've had the machine for almost three months. It has a sturdy feel and a smooth operation. It's quiet enough for me to leave the door to my bedroom open without worrying about waking up the kids. The only things I don't like are:1. Sometimes it seems to take a long time for the heart rate monitor to get a reading. Other times it's faster, so it may be a matter of finding the correct hand position. 2. Sometimes when I'm trying to switch the incline by just a bit, say from 65% to 70%, the machine doesn't respond. When you get into the higher inclines, you need to be changing by, say, 15%. This is not a big deal, however. Honestly I don't think there's a big difference between 65 and 70% incline; it's just that I'll have a preset number in mind.3. When charging the iPod and playing it through the speaker at the same time, there's a buzzing, staticky noise. So if I want to use the speaker, I don't charge the iPod, I just rest it in the dock. The noise isn't there when charging and using headphones at the same time.4. Occasionally there are ticks or squeaks. The squeaks can usually be fixed by cleaning the wheels and wheel tracks. The ticks come and go. They're not really bad; I'd just rather not have them, of course.I did pay for the in-home setup because I'm not mechanically inclined and also didn't think I could handle a box of this weight. So I know that the setup is correct. Actually, I called the setup guys once to come and fix an annoying tick in the beginning. It turned out to be a harmless, slightly loose casing over the "joint" of the bars connecting the pedal to the flywheel.I use the Horizon about four times a week, 35 minutes a time. I'm sure it could handle much more use.I like how very sturdy it feels. It's smooth and easy to use. I definitely can feel that I'm getting a good workout with it. This machine pretty much has it all for a good price.By the way, I am planning on getting the MANUFACTURER'S extended warranty[...] The nice thing about the one from Horizon is that it's renewable over and over again[...] Finally, the Sensei has reviewed the Horizon E900 and given it a very good rating. That made me really happy.

I researched many of the machines that are out in stores for the past two months and did not want to spend over a grand $$. This E900 by Horizon so far is perfect & very impressive. To assemble the unit took me 1.5 hrs it came with all of its own tools and the instructions were easy to follow.
I am a very particular buyer/customer and I usually have high expectations for the things I invest in. I am so far very satisfied ! This machine is extremely smooth and the incline feature is a major bonus. It will take me some time to figure out the electronic programs but that is expected. If anyone is looking for a machine and budget is a major factor this unit is a good buy. I am certainly going to follow up with a review after a month or two of constant use on this machine. The E900 is a great buy!

Our Gym fees kept going up so we decided to buy an eliptical for home. I wasn't sure that a "home" machine would be as effective as the precor the gym has ... but I have been pleasantly surprised! I have only used it 2 days now, but my workouts seem to be a little more demanding! The only question that remains is how will it hold up to the constant use. It is a great machine for the money!

I have researched for weeks and probably have looked at every machine that I could. By far the Horizon seemed the strongest and gave a good workout for the price. At the beginning I didnt want to spend over[$]but this machine is awesome. You will definitley be able to feel the smoothness of the machine as soon as you get on it and thats what sold me. Of course its a machine and I did spend[$] more dollars and bought 2 year extended warranty, I mean if you are dishing out this much whats [$] My husband assembled this by himself and took about an hour. For someone who does not want to spend alot but wants quality this is the machine to get. The only con is it is a big machine so you need a room that you can fit it in but its worth it for the workout you get from this machine!

Product is easy to assemble as long as instructions are followed TO THE T and there are two people assembling. All parts are seperated in individual bags and labeled by assembly step. GREAT unit for weight loss. Easy to use, VERY quiet operation. Even the incline motor runs smooth and quiet. The heartrate monitor is a little slow to pickup and I wish it had a way to enter bodyweight to track weightloss and better calculate calories burned. I am close to the 300lb limit and the machine handles my weight no problem. We have had this machine ~1 month and my wife and I use 5+ times per week each and have had few problems. Like all machines, be sure to check & tighten bolts after every 2 or so weeks of use. We have had one nut come off due to use, however the design made it so this did not cause an "accident" like some models would.

I would HIGHLY recommend this product! This rivals many $3,000+ units that I have used in many gyms.

While the assembly took about 2 1/2 hours, it was very easy to assemble. Horizon gives you all the tools you need to assemble the product. The directions are step by step with words and pictures. Best of all, the hardware you need for each step are in separate baggies which are clearly labeled. Therefore, you do not have to worry about using the wrong screw in the wrong part.

I do have one plastic piece that is cracked and we are contacting Horizon. But given the overall quality of the machine, it is minor and does not affect the usage.
