My elliptical is extremely quiet, that's the best thing about this machine. I've never been on a machine that is comfortable and quiet at the same time.
The pulse grips are a little off but that doesn't matter because I just use the wireless heart rate chest strap. That's more accurate anyways.

I was a little reluctant to spend the extra $100 to get the SelectTechs instead of the competition, but now I'm glad I did. These weights are very comfortable during lifting. There is a huge variety of different weights and you can switch between them in an instant. They also take up very little space. The SelectTechs are great for any kind of dumbbell exercises. The weights don't rattle around too much during lifting and I haven't had any problems with the weights falling off. SelectTechs are a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a whole row of dumbbells, but they are still pretty pricy. But other than the high price tag, these are really good weights that I enjoy using and would recommend to anyone for any kind of work out.

I am a Tae Kwon Do tourny fighter, and a Soccer player, and have excelled at both. I used to just from doing both have excellent stamina and very low body fat. I ruined my knee about 3 years ago and then used a recumbant bike (costing 9 times as much) at the College Gym I went to 3 times a week. About 2 years ago I just never found time to go to the gym, probably my own laziness. I then jumped on this same bike a year later and only used it twice, but both times did a full hill climb both up and down for 30 mins all the way up to its 20 resistance and back down. I then got this a few days ago, and I can't successfully get past 3 and keep a decent speed. This bike is compact enough to sit in my bedroom of my parents house up against the wall out of the way, and gives me no excuse to not get back in shape, fix my knee, and go back to doing what I love. I also recommend the warranty since it isnt much to extend it for a year or 2 compared to the 90 days from the manufacturer. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to get in shape, but probably not cyclers as the 8 resistance it goes to isn't much compared to riding a real bike up a real hill.

Why it took so long to develop this equipment is questionable. Can't put a price on Value and Benefit-from the Dumbells Weight Distribution to the Rubber Grips to the Ability to Pyramid Train without searching for different weight or never having to buy dumbells-again!!!, by far makes these Priceless!!! Purchased this set back when it first came out, and have enjoyed using it ever since. The ability to switch through the weight is easy, and the space it saves is incredible. I'm not a gym rat or a heavy lifter, but I've found that these strengthen, tone, and have provided a great amount of mass. Wife uses them as well, as they go pretty far down on weight settings.

I do recommend getting the optional stand if you don't have an elevated place to put them from the start. Picking it up on a heavy setting off the ground could strain your back if you lift the wrong way.

Only con I can think of is the bulk of the item with multiple plates on - this, however, shouldn't effect your workout. Also, after reading some previous reviews on here, I've had no issues with plates coming off in all the years I've owned them.

Five stars and two thumbs up - great for any home gym!!

These are great. Perfect for the home gym if you don't have a lot of space. It's a great deal when you get them with the free stand. Just watch out for those deals. The stands make them worth it. If you don't have the stands, you might not lot these as much.

I haven't used the SelectTech Dumbbells long enough to be perfectly satisfied, but at this point, I couldn't be happier. The system is so superior to regular dumbbells. The DVD that was included has been very helpful too.

I bought these as a way to save space in my home workout room. They work great!! I used to belong to a gym for years and am very familiar with other equipment. Would I put these in a gym for everyday meat head use? No. They are not designed to withstand dropping all the time BUT that is why Bowflex designed a stand that works fantastic! The dumbells are in the same position all the time. No bending to the lower rack or lifting to the upper rack.I'm not a big fan of Bowflex stuff, but these are the perfect design. The versatility is excellent! Is sampled other selectable dumbells and they were either to bulky (Power Blocks) or a pain in the @#$ to adjust (Weider Power Switch). That's why they are all cheaper in my opinion. Don't believe me? Go to [@] or wherever and try them all for yourself before buying. Be sure to pull them off the rack, then replace them and change the weight. You will see what I mean (Weider).Hold out for a deal to get the stand included for the [$] price or just ask for it like I did and they gave it to me because a competitor offered it.I see NO downfalls with these unless you like dropping them on the floor after use.The grip is great too! Semi-rubberized instead of skin/glove chewing checkering.

These dumbbells are perfect for someone that wants a variety of weights but doesn't want the expense of purchasing an entire rack of them. I have these dumbbells in my living room and use them daily to tone my arms, shoulders, neck, etc. I can opt to purchase the heavier metal dumbbells at the store if I want more weight, but I get 5-50 lbs in a compact size. They fit in a corner and are easy to use. The grips are well designed and comfortable. All in all a great deal.

After 1 year of LITTLE use, one of the dumbbells will not hold the weighted plates. The plates will literally fly off as you do curls--not safe! Warranty is too short for the price you pay. Will never purchase another Bowflex piece of equipment-ever.

I'm a mom and pregnant again and I like to use these because they are stable enough to set on a large table and you do not have to worry about them rolling off. This helps because bending over is a huge pain when you are pregnant. I get to exercise by chest and back and shoulders without having to get the wierd looks at the gym. It is nice not to have to have a bunch of different sized weights lying around.

I am an in home personal trainer and one of my clients owns this product. At first, thought the idea was cool and they looked better than my Powerblocks, but we actually found the Bowflex product to be potentially dangerous. Sometimes the plates don't lock fully and can slip out, this is especially bad if you do anything overhead because the weight might hit you on the head. We only use the Powerblocks when I am there because they are similar in function, but provide more security. Powerblocks are also cheaper, even though they may be a little bulkier.

Wouldn't recommend SelectTech to weightlifters that have a habit a dropping weights after an exhausting set.

This is an amzing product! I got it because I had outgrown my vinyl coated 5-10-15 lb weights, but didn't want to clutter my home with the big chunky metal dumbbells (which also had rusted my carpet when they begin to chip with any humidity in your home). I talked my husband into buying these and he loves them as well. Got the stand thrown in for free on a special deal - worth watching for, though few and far between from what I've seen. I wish all home fitness was as good as this. Bowflex is awesome and these weights suit both me (a lightweight lifter) and my husband who needs a bigger challenge.

This is a wonderful product. We have had it for a month and could not be happier with its performance. The dumbbells are easy to use and comfortable to lift. We got the bench at the same time at no cost (a special offer on black Friday) and that really sweetened the deal. The bench is of high quality as well. A bench is necessary in order to do chest excercises and helpful for other excercises as well. If you don't have one already, I would recommend purchasing it.

I love this product. All the weight I need and my wife uses it as well. You can dial it down to as little as 5 pounds. Couldn't be any easier to change the weight and the contoured rubber grip is really comfortable. I don't wear my weightlifting gloves with these.
